Every gutter run is formed on-site using Summit's own gutter machine. The machine extrudes continuous aluminum coil stock into a finished gutter profile, cut to the precise length your home requires. Because the gutter is formed to match your specific roofline measurements, there are no mid-run seams — only end caps and corner joints where seams are unavoidable.

Gutters are fastened to the fascia board along the roofline and pitched to move water toward the downspouts. Downspouts carry water from the gutter down the side of the home and discharge it at grade level. Proper fastening and pitch are important — a gutter that sags or holds standing water can pull away from the fascia over time and become a source of damage rather than protection.

Where the water goes after it leaves the downspout matters as much as the gutter itself. Summit considers the slope of the yard, the location of the foundation, and the position of landscaping, driveways, and outdoor living areas when planning downspout locations. The goal is to move water away from the structure and discharge it where it can drain without pooling against the home or eroding landscaping.

If your existing gutters are pulling away from the fascia, leaking at seams, or no longer draining properly, replacement may be the right solution. Summit can remove the old gutters and install a new seamless run in their place. Replacement follows the same process as new installation — measurements are taken, the gutter is formed on-site, and the new system is installed and pitched to drain correctly.

Not every roofline is the same. Hip roofs, gable ends, dormers, and covered patios each present different drainage considerations. Summit plans the gutter layout to match the specific geometry of your home, accounting for where water concentrates during rain and where it needs to be directed. The layout is discussed with the homeowner before installation begins.
